Where your listings show up

How Lockr picks the platforms that matter for your trade, and how the stack is monitored.

We claim, set up, and monitor your business across a tight stack of high-quality platforms — the ones that actually move the needle for local search, AI search, and brand legitimacy. Not 50+ random directories where listings sit dead.

The framework

Every contractor gets a Universal Core of free, editable, indexable platforms. On top of that, we add trade-specific platforms based on what you do, where you operate, and what credentials you already hold.

The exact number depends on your trade, your region, and what credentials you hold. Could be 10 platforms for one contractor, 25 for another. The goal is quality over volume. Five complete profiles on platforms Google and AI engines actually trust beats 50 half-built profiles on directories nobody checks.

Quality over volume isn't a slogan, it's a research call

There's a reason most SEO companies won't tell you exactly which platforms they set you up on. The specific list is the work. It takes time, real data, and watching what actually ranks across hundreds of trades and regions to know which platforms move the needle for a pressure washer in Flint vs. an HVAC contractor in Houston vs. a remodeler in Denver. Anyone who hands you a generic 50-platform checklist is selling you a checklist, not a result.

We've built our stack from first principles: only platforms that are free, editable, indexable, and either trusted by Google's local algorithm, frequently cited by AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini), or both. We rebuild the list as we learn more, and your account inherits the improvements automatically.

What we won't put you on

The pay-to-play marketplaces — the platforms that sell you leads instead of giving you a clean citation. The “free” profiles on those sites usually sit behind a sales gate, aren't well-indexed, or exist mostly to convert you into a paying lead-buyer. They're paid marketplaces, not SEO citations.

If you want to be on one of them specifically for the leads, that's your call and we'll help you set it up properly. But we don't make you pay-to-play just to look like you have a presence. The Universal Core does that better.

Credential-based platforms

Some of the highest-leverage trade-specific platforms — manufacturer dealer finders, trade association directories, certification programs — require you to already hold the credential. If you do, we get you listed. If you don't, we'll tell you which ones are worth pursuing for your trade and you decide. We don't push you into memberships you don't want.

Government and license verification

Public records — your state business entity lookup, your contractor license database — are some of the highest-trust sources Google and AI engines pull from. We don't create these listings, but we verify your information is accurate and surface them as trust evidence in your audit and ongoing monitoring.

Monitoring

Once your platforms are live, we monitor for:

  • NAP changes (if someone edits your listing without permission)
  • New reviews (you get a draft reply within hours)
  • Profile drops (a platform un-verifies you for some reason)
  • Competitor activity (when a competitor in your zip code makes moves)

You see all of this in your dashboard.
